SMC/BMC resin are the main resin matrix used in the production of SMC and BMC. They are formulated together with reinforcing materials, fillers, additives, low-shrinkage additives, and other raw materials to produce SMC and BMC.
High strength: SMC/BMC is lighter than steel and aluminum, with a relative density of generally 1.3-2.0 g/cm³, only 1/4-1/6 that of ordinary steel and 1/3 lighter than aluminum alloys. However, it possesses very high tensile strength, flexural strength, and impact toughness, allowing it to withstand significant external forces without easily being damaged. For example, resin water meter boxes, produced using SMC molding technology, have a density as high as 1.8-2.0 g/cm³ and a tensile strength of 80-120 MPa.
Excellent heat resistance: After demolding, the product can maintain dimensional stability within a range of -50 to 200°C. This excellent heat resistance makes it suitable for use in temperature-sensitive applications such as automotive parts.
